Quality

Quality, being a core competency of TPC, is achieved, maintained and continually improved through a Quality Management System, founded on identification and fulfillment of customer needs.

Customer needs are identified by operating a Voice of Customer system (VOC) including questionnaires issued by “Customer Relations Office”, customer contacts with “Sales Engineering” and “Customer Relations Office”, regular meetings arranged between customers and management, and customer complaints handled and analyzed by “Quality Assurance” .

Customer needs are transmitted to “Research Center” (R&D) as input for New Products Development projects.  Moreover, inputs from VOC are utilized to improve existing products.

Products are produced based on either technology licenses obtained from the most reputable licensors (e.g., UOP, INEOS, IFP, BASF) or in-house technologies devised by R&D for which a comprehensive and strict validation process is followed.

Quality Control

Quality Control system (QC), a major constituent of TPC Quality Management System,  encompasses incoming materials used for production, materials under production, and final products.

QC of feed, chemicals, packaging materials and other main items used in the production process are controlled in a system comprising specifications of purchased materials developed by “Process Engineering” and “Quality Assurance”, vendors technically appraised and approved through a supplier evaluation process, and materials inspected, tested and released to the production.

QC of in-process products includes the most advanced production control systems, on-line tests carried out by real time analyzers and off-line routine tests performed by “Laboratory”.

QC of final products incorporates inspection and test activities performed on the products themselves, on packaging for polymer products and on tankers used for transportation of liquid and liquefied products.

In all three steps mentioned above, nonconformities are identified, root causes are determined and corrective / preventive actions are planned and executed.

Quality Management System Certification

Quality Management System of TPC has been developed on the basis of ISO 9001:2008 as minimum requirements. Besides the main system certified by QS Switzerland, the following complementary systems have been implemented:

·         ISO/TS 29001 (2010) with sector-specific supplemental requirements for the oil, petrochemical and natural gas industries, certified by QS,

·         ISO 10002 (2004) pertaining customer satisfaction and handling customer complaints, certified by QS,

·         ISO 17025 (2005) for testing laboratories, certified by Turkak (Turkey).
